A qualified and passionate instructor of the Pilates method, having taught in the community of Launceston, Tasmania, for over 10 years. A love of movement for which has grown organically, over my life, through dance and yoga, has today brought me to a place of contentment and an informed belief, of the possibilities and potential of not only healing through movement, both physically and mentally but the ever evolving and deep grounding sense of balance for one’s life – that I believe a dedicated practice in mindful forms of movement like Pilates or Yoga brings.
The Body Loft’s Pilates Studio is fully equipped . The Studio has a boutique feel and was intentionally designed so! Although not only designed for aesthetic appeal, much thought and intention was also given to creating an environment for all different styles and abilities of learners! To learn more about what it is to develop a practice in Studio Pilates – please view the Schedule , there is a detailed description of the difference between a Studio or Mat practice.
The Body Loft’s “Mat Space” has small to medium apparatus to either assist or challenge your form on the mat. It is my passion though to stay true to the authentic mat work (where all we need is our bodies, and presence of mind. As mentioned above you can click onto the Schedule whe’re you’ll find a detailed description of the difference between a Mat or Studio Practice. I would recommend a combination of two mat classes a week to reap the benefits of a Pilates Mat Practice. Where your also able to take the exercises home for more practice!
Grateful to the Pilates Method developed by “Joseph Pilates”, the insightful forward thinking man of a generation now past. I consider myself blessed that I came across the opportunity to be qualified by an educating body (Polestar Pilates) with whom I am currently a mentor/asst educator to students pursuing a career in the Pilates Industry. An educating body whose commitment and mission is to “To educate movement science professionals, in the application of movement as a means of enriching lives and fostering the development of mind, body, spirit and community.” Whose vision is to “Impact the world through intelligent movement; fostering awareness of self and community”.
